FAQs

What size are your bales?

Small Squares

Our small square bales are the common twine tied two string bales; they measure 14" x 18" x 32" and weigh about 45 lbs. each.  They are a firm bale that are easy to handle and stack well.  We are working on ways to produce heavier bales on demand, but for right now, everybody's back seems to prefer the 45 pound bales.

Large Squares

Our large square bales use 6 strings, measure 3' x 4' x 8', and weigh around 1200 lbs. each.  If you have a lot of animals to feed and don't want to spend all day doing it, then these are the bales for you.  Because of their high density, these are the most economical bales to truck.  On our 48' step deck trailer, we sometimes have to take off one bale so we're not over our 80,000 lb. gross weight limit!

What kind of hay do your bales contain?

Our hay contains a varying mix of Timothy, Orchard, and Brome (TOB).

We find this mix to be very well accepted by horses, cows, goats, sheep, alpaca, and more.

At this time, our hay does not contain Alfalfa; with enough demand, and improvements in our drying capabilities, it is something we may consider.
